This Privacy Policy applies to both (a) the PDF Toolkit application (the "Application"), a desktop PDF tool for macOS and Windows, and (b) the PDF Toolkit Official Website at https://www.pdftoolkitdev.app/ (the "Official Website"). Both are developed and operated by Lee Kwok Po (the "Service Provider"). The Application is built privacy-first and processes documents locally; the Official Website uses Google Analytics solely for traffic analysis. This policy explains what information is — and is not — processed when you use the Application or visit the Official Website, and sets out your rights under the applicable data protection laws.

1. Scope and Overview

This policy describes how the Application and the Official Website handle information, and your rights under applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU/UK GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA), and the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong (PDPO). Section 5 describes the Official Website specifically; the other sections describe the Application except where they clearly refer to the Official Website. Where the law of your jurisdiction grants you additional or different rights, we respect them as described in Section 10.

2. Local Processing and Zero Document Collection (Crucial)

• On-Device Processing Only: Every PDF operation — including merging, splitting, organizing, resizing, compressing, converting, image extraction, encryption, electronic and digital signatures, redaction, page numbering, watermarking, and metadata editing — is performed entirely on your local device (Mac or Windows PC). The Application reads only the files you select or drop, and writes exports only to locations you choose.
• Zero Cloud Uploads: Your PDF documents, imported fonts, signatures, and any information contained within them are never uploaded to our servers, cloud storage, or any third-party infrastructure. Your passwords for encrypted PDFs stay on your device.
• No Remote Access: The Service Provider has no remote access to, does not collect, and does not retain your documents. Your files and exports remain under your control on your local machine.

3. Zero Telemetry, Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking (Application)

• The Application does not collect, track, log, or monitor your personal data, device information, or usage habits through its own code.
• The Application does not itself collect or log your IP address, device hardware identifiers, or operating system details.
• The Application contains no third-party analytics SDKs, behavioral tracking scripts, advertising SDKs, or profiling tools.
• The Application does not automatically transmit crash dumps or error logs to any remote server.
• When you install or update the Application through the Apple App Store or Microsoft Store, Apple or Microsoft may process information under their own platform privacy policies; that processing is outside the Service Provider's control and never includes your document content.
